Redneck Snowman

Not sure if you can tell, but once Clay and Reagan built this snowman half the snow was gone out of our yard! They did a really great job and I managed to snap a couple of shots of them constructing their masterpiece. Yes, those are chocolate chip cookies for the snowman's eyes...the way I saw it that would be two chocolate chip cookies I wouldn't be able to eat!!! Too bad we couldn't find Clay's "Who Farted?" hat. That would have been the icing on the cake! hee hee

Snow Day!!!

We awoke Saturday morning to one of Jake's buddies informing us it had snowed Friday night. When we looked out the window we didn't expect to see a whole lot but to our suprise it's the most snow we've had in a long time. It was so pretty and fortunately it snowed on the weekend so the whole state didn't have to shut down! I'm sure if I had ventured to the store there would have been no bread or milk to be found. Why do people down here feel like they need to stock up when it snows? It's not like we would be stranded for a month at a time and even if we were who the heck would want to live off bread and milk? I just don't get it. The kids thoroughly enjoyed it and spent the whole day outside. Clay and I just sat back and enjoyed the view!

Christmas at Flower Pepa's

We went to Flower Pepa's on Christmas Eve and here are some pics. We had a great time and so did the kids. Eva wore her Mrs. Claus outfit and she got to spend lots of time with everyone. This was by far the best Christmas we could ask for!!

Reagan and Jake both have Christmas elves that have w reaked havoc upon the Giles household. Courtney kept the kids so Clay and I could go to my office Christmas party and low and behold the elves destroyed the house!!!! Courtney and Clay woke up to mustaches the next morning! Although Clay was a little jealous because Courtney's mustache was bigger than his....hee hee

I'll be glad when the elves go back home!

Reagan decided to be in the Miss Merry Christmas Pageant this year. She was so excited and she looked so pretty. Clay and I were both so proud of her. She had her make-up and hair done by Mrs. Sara and I almost fainted when I saw how growny she looked. She enjoyed the pageant but I think she was happy when it was over!!!!

I apologize for taking for taking so long to post. So much has happened since the last time I posted. I want to first thank all the wonderful family and friends that prayed for Eva to get better. God heard those prayers and answered them all. Our God is so good!! We brought Eva home on October 25th and she has been the center of our attention and the joy of our lives ever since. Jacob and Reagan adore her and enjoy taking care of her when Mom and Dad have things that really need to get done. Eva likes to be held.......ALOT!!! But that's ok. Considering everything she's been through we may just never put her down!!!

Well, the guessing is finally over.....It's a Girl! We are really excited, er, Clay, Reagan and I are....when Jacob found out he told me if the baby girl was going to be like Reagan he didn't want her!!!!!!

We are going to name her Eva Elizabeth. Of course the Eva came from Mom and the Elizabeth we just liked!!!! I promise I am going to get better with this blog! We got a Mac and I still haven't completely figured out how to use it!

Two Sweaty Sleepers!

We finally made it to the lake for the 4th of July weekend (yes, I know 4th of July...old post) and there was no POWER or WATER so we roughed it out like in olden days. We all sat on the porch and complained about how miserable we were until the power came back on! Meanwhile, Courtney and Owen fell asleep inside on the leather chair. We had to use a spatula to seperate them!

I know, it has been a really LONG time since I've posted. Time goes by way too fast. It's hard to believe the kids only have a little over a week before school starts back. This picture was taken at the beginning of summer. Both Jacob and Reagan adore their new little cousin Owen. He has spent the night with us a couple of times and all of us are completely smitten by him! He is such an angel!

Student of the Month!

Reagan was awarded Student of the Month for the month of April. She worked very hard for this award and is very proud of herself and we are very proud of her. This award is given to one child in each class who the teacher feels has behaved the best and excelled the most. It's hard to believe she will be in 1st grade and Jake will be in 4th. The time sure has flown by.

Owen Parker Grill

Well, the little fellow finally made it here! He was born on March 26th and weighed 7 lbs 13 oz's. He has a head full of hair and the most precious little face in the whole world! We are so proud for Augie and Courtney. Uncle Cookie and Aunt Renea are pretty excited too!

The McWayne Center

We recently visited the McWayne Center and as you can tell we had a ball! Clay and the kids got to stand in the wind tunnel and experience winds of up to 75 miles per hour. Thankfully Reagan's skirt didn't blow up! We also met a puffer fish that had no problem swimming right up to us to have her picture taken. The kids called her "Mrs. Puff" from Spongebob (of course). We also saw a big ugly green eel!! Yuk, he was ugly!!! We made imprints of our faces and hands (mine turned out horrid) but Clay and the kids were really cute. At the end we all placed our hands in....look at how tiny Regan's hands look compared to the rest of ours!

Reagan was one of ten in her whole school recently chosen to have her artwork displayed at Oak Mountain Elementary. Thank God for Clay and his family because I know Jake and Reagan didn't get their talent from their Mom! Her drawing (if you can see it) was a caterpillar and it was adorable! We were very proud of her and hope that she and Jake both continue to excel in their artwork!

Well, here we are. We finally decided to come to the new millennium and start a blog about our family. Clay and I both will try to update this on a daily basis. Easier said than done but I think this will be a cool way for us to stay in touch with the family. We've had so much going on in our lives - from moving, the kids starting a new school which they love and Clay and I getting used to the drives "to town" we have to make on a regular basis. We do love it out here and couldn't imagine living anywhere else now. The kids are getting ready to get out of school and Clay and I are both looking forward to a nice summer. Grandma Marilyn, Ginger and Joe Chuck just left us headed back home after a three day visit that we all enjoyed so much! Hopefully, it will be the first of many visits we will get to have with eachother over the course of the next year.
